Stoic Week 2023 is coming very soon, on Monday 6 November!
Stoic Week is an annual global event where participants live like a Stoic for one week. Since its inception in 2012, nearly 40,000 people have enrolled and discovered the benefits of practicing Stoic philosophies. Past participants have reported improvements such as reduced negative emotions, increased life satisfaction, and an enhanced ability to put difficulties into perspective.
This year’s theme is “Stoicism and Well-Being.”
The program focuses on seven topics designed to directly improve your mental health and quality of life.
Everything is free and online, so you can join from anywhere in the world.
Here is what past participants have said about their experiences:
– “I am calmer and accept disagreeable things with good spirits. Not so easily hurt anymore.”
– “Having a clear list of daily exercises has started to make these a daily habit.”
– “It has made me think, question, and discuss half-formed ideas.”
– “The guidance of Stoicism makes me happy.”
– “I realized how positive and worthy my life has been and feel prepared for whatever comes next.”
This is a unique opportunity to challenge yourself and gain a new perspective. I highly encourage you to enroll in Stoic Week and discover how embracing Stoic philosophies can enhance your well-being.
The program is entirely free and easy to fit into your schedule.
Each day is enhanced by guest videos from well-known members of the Modern Stoicism community such as Donald Robertson, John Sellars, Kathryn Koromilas, Brittany Polat, Chris Gill, Andi Sciacca, and Greg Sadler.
We cannot 100% guarantee that doing Stoic Week will help you, but most people have told us that it is well worth the effort. And the data we have been gathering, interpreting, and reporting on each year shows that the vast majority of people who participate in Stoic Week see consistent improvement in multiple areas of their lives!
In addition, we are running Stoic Week specifically for students once again.
Stoic Week for Students is an instructional course we’ve developed especially for teens and young adults. This is an opportunity for teachers to present Stoic materials to their secondary school students in an engaging way, or for parents to introduce their children to the theory and practice of Stoicism. If you are participating in Stoic Week, invite your children to join you!
Topics of Stoic Week for Students include happiness, resilience, managing emotions, friendship, community, nature, identity, and character. Students have the option to enroll in our Teachable course, where they can follow along each day just as in the original Stoic Week. Alternatively, parents and teachers can download a pdf version of the handbook, along with an instructor’s guide that includes supplemental information and activities. Either way, this is an excellent opportunity to share Stoicism with a teen or young adult in your life.
